Waking up in Hoover this morning, and TV crews are outside with stand-ups reporting the beginning of Media Days like the invasion of Normandy. (Credit Boss with that one. He accused me of such with another event one time.)

If you are hoping to hear from the Honey Badger this week you're going to be disappointed. The self-proclaimed best defensive player in the nation isn't among the three LSU players attending.

Over the weekend Yahoo's Dr. Saturday blog showed screen shot's of Mathieu's Twitter account making that claim.

Surely Mathieu's numbers, notoriety and big plays put him in the conversation. It's just more credible when someone else says it about you rather than you saying it yourself.

LSU will be represented by QB Zach Mettenberger, who will be in his first season as a starter, WR Odell Beckham Jr. and safety Eric Reid.

Ole Miss is on the docket Thursday, the final day of the event. The Rebels are represented by linebacker Mike Marry, defensive back Charles Sawyer and WR Donte Moncrief.

Coaches have their own reasons for selecting the players to accompany them to Media Days. When you consider the big names to have played SEC football through the years, only two players have attended Media Days three times. The record-holders are both quarterbacks. If you're thinking Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning go to the back of the line.

They're Vanderbilt's Jay Cutler and Mississippi State's Wayne Madkin.

Auburn tight end-H back Philip Lutzenkirchen will join those two as a three-timer this week.

I asked this yesterday, but it was immediately shuffled to page 2.

PA will you be there? If so, here are some requests.

Is anyone discussing the possibility of swapping Auburn and Missouri in the divisions?

Can you ask Slive about that?

I'd also like to know if the Ole Miss/LSU game "Magnolia Bowl", will be scheduled on a set annual week. My ID name shows my feelings for the Tigas, but I liked the former rivalry and would love to see the game set up each Halloween week.
