All teams have their own personalities, of course, and circumstances are different.

But it is worth noting as mid-May approaches and the Rebels have work to do to ensure a return to postseason that May hasn't been a strong month in recent seasons.

Ole Miss shared the SEC overall title with a 20-10 conference record in 2009. That team closed strong with a 7-2 record in the month of May, winning two of its last three league series including sweeps at Auburn and at Arkansas.

In 2010 and 2011 the Rebels were a combined 8-13 in May games and 2-6 in SEC series with at least one game during May.

The Rebels are at home against Tennessee (24-24, 8-16) and at Vanderbilt (24-24, 11-13) for the last six conference games. They play at Arkansas State on Tuesday.
