Spanning the globe on a Monday morning. ...

In a story that probably got more attention elsewhere but dropped to the second tier around here in light of the Houston Nutt rumors, Missouri officially joined the SEC. Not everyone, however, applauds the Tigers for becoming the second Big 12 school to join the conference. ...

Back on the local front. As stated in the Sunday evening blog post below, Nutt said there were no meetings yesterday regarding his future as football coach at Ole Miss. He also seemed uncertain that his future was settled because he hadn't been approached by his administration within a 24-hour window after the Rebels' 30-13 loss at Kentucky, their 12th straight in the league. Stay tuned. ...

The Sporting News offers the opinion in a headline here that LSU and Les Miles "want" another crack at Alabama. I wouldn't think "want" is the right word, necessarily. What else was Miles going to say standing on the Alabama field just seconds after winning 9-6 late Saturday night? He said the right thing when the rematch question was asked in saying it would be an "honor" to play Alabama again.

Speaking of those BCS standings that will dictate whether a rematch occurs before next year in Baton Rouge, the Tide didn't slide too much.

More on LSU-Alabama. Three LSU students have come clean. They admit decorating the Nick Saban statue outside Bryant-Denny Stadium with a purple cape. Said they did it in broad daylight. ...

From the other side of the conference, Georgia's standout freshman running back Isaiah Crowell and two of his teammates are back in good graces after serving a one-game suspension. They will be available when the now-East Division-leading Bulldogs take on Auburn Saturday. Georgia throttled New Mexico State over the weekend, but the big news for the Bulldogs was that South Carolina lost at Arkansas, and Georgia - where coach Mark Richt began the season on the hot seat - now has a one-game lead in the East in the second week in November.

Otown fans deserve better than this. I believe that La Tech, (who just manhandled Fresno St.) will come in and kick the Red and Blue, black and blue. La Tech's QB can spin it and they have a great rushing offense. I guess the powerbrokers at the house on the hill will drive this car until the trasmission falls out. A change has to be made before the season ends or recruits will start switching. The players quit late against Kentucky and I think they have lost faith in Nutt. This is worse than Orgeron's days, because at least he had some awesome recruits. Nutt has steadily driven the program deeper and deeper into the ground.
