At a fairly uneventful weekly presser, Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt did address the topic of job security.

Here's his response when asked if he believes he is coaching for his job in these last few games.

“This is my fif- I don't know how many years it is now, going on 15 or 14. I don't look at it that way, going into the office like, 'Uh oh, this could be it.' I don't look at it that way. I'm in charge or responsible for about 120 guys. I love it here, but I know this, they pay me to win. Right now we're not winning.”

I look at it the complete opposite of probably the way you look at it. Hey, I take every single day and give you everything I have. I've done that since the first day I got here, work from daylight to exhaustion every day, giving it, trying to make a difference in a young person's life and trying to win football games.”

We haven't done that this year. I don't like that. I hate losing. I think there are some players that feel the same way I do. They hate losing, and you don't want that. You try to give them the best plan possible, so every single day you come to work and sometimes you stay up late at night thinking about what's the best plan I can give these guys so that we can win. That's all we think about. But for me to walk on egg shells and come in all nervous and worry about is this my last day, last game or is this it, my last month … I don't look at it like that. I can't do that.”

More from the presser later this evening.

fire boone, no one will come with him around

give nutt another year but tell him make the changes you need to make to win, if he does not then let him go after one more year, then you can say he was not fired

If Otown had Rich Rodriquez as coach next season, he would win 6 or 7 right away. Rich Rod knows how to use talent like #2, #3 and #34. Mackey would be the perfect QB to operate Rich Rod's offense. He said last week that he is looking for a coaching job. He would walk across razors to coach in the SEC. He was a poor fit at Michigan, cause all they had was Robinson and some rather slow guys. Brassell would have over 1,500 yards and probably be in the Heisman talk. Fire Nutt! Hire Rich Rod.

rebelrt, I agree, for what it worth coming from me, I think if the do fire Coach Nutt - its no telling what type coach will be forced on the University of Political Correctness. it could be a disaster for REBEL FANS.many jumping ship, including myself.

I think Ole Miss will be making a mistake if they fire Coach Nutt after this season. If you fire experience and go with some "new guy" that's never had a HC position, then you take a huge gamble. This team will be better next year and two years from now will be awesome with the current talent. Pete Boone and Tyrone Nix need to go first. I'm not sold on Nix as a DC.....the defense has been our weakness for the past 2 or 3 years.
