Highlights from Houston Nutt's time on the SEC teleconference. ...
(Are you aware that some are calling this the Hot Seat Bowl?)
"Hmmph. I hadn't heard that. I don't really read anything during the year. The league we're in, the times we're in, you assume things like that are happening. If that's what they want to talk about, that's pretty good company to be in with Mark Richt."
(Have the years you've coached prepared you for this sort of negativity?)
"Absolutely. A couple of years there at Arkansas really prepared me for anything and everything. You get lost with your players, lost with your team. You're trying to make that difference with every young man, help your team get better. To lose energy on things outside this complex, these meeting rooms and this football field, you're distracting yourself and wasting time."
(On Barry Brunetti's status)
"He's had such a tremendous attitude, and he's working really hard. He's actually gotten back in the mix a little bit, because of the Mackey situation. I'd like to redshirt him, I just don't know if that's going to be possible. He's done an excellent job of practice, working against our first-team defense. He could be back in the mix, we're just trying to get the best scenario for our team to help us win."
