A good read here from Seth Emerson of the Macon (Ga.) Telegraph.

It seems the Michael Oher story continues to make an impact. Here's the story of Georgia's Kenarious Gates, a junior. He was recruiting afterthought, a last-minute addition to the 2010 class.

Now he's poised to become the protector of Georgia's most important offensive player, quarterback Aaron Murray, who is entering his third year as the starter.

Gates credits a surprise visit with Oher for helping him along the way. Oher and two other members of his adopted family saw Gates at his high school one day not long after he joined the Georgia recruiting class.
