Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt thought his quarterback competiton would be settled by now, but that has not been the case.
Nutt and his offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, David Lee, have praised each of the three candidates for having strengths different from the others, and the coaches say they would not be hesitant to use any one of the quarterbacks on game day.
In theory, you can only use one.
We've written about the quarterbacks extensively, and now camp is complete. The school year has started, and attention will turn to preparation for BYU.
So, who's the winner?
A. Barry Brunetti
B. Randall Mackey
C. Zack Stoudt
Leave your logic along with your answer.
Brunetti it is...
JB
At first glance, I would have to say Stoudt. We are supposed to have a strong running game, a strong O-Line, and at receiver, we have a mix of speed and size. So, one would think the pocket passer would be the best choice for that combination of personnel.
However, from the reports that I have read, our young and inexperienced defense seems to be able to put pressure in the backfield and cause problems for our offence. So, in that scenario, I would have to go with Brunetti. Although brings a very similar set of skills as Mackey, he has three years to be a Rebel and we should go ahead and build for the future.
