From the mother ship this morning, our take on the Tobias Singleton departure.

I found it interesting that Hugh Freeze assigned a percentage to "buy in" during SEC Media Days and again later at the campus media day.

Judging by Freeze's comments, Singleton clearly had not bought in.

His exit has generated a lot of news because of his high school accomplishments. Any time you subtract an athlete from the roster it hurts, and the current state of depth at many positions has been well documented.

But Singleton, for whatever reason, wasn't very high on the depth chart even after the injury to Collins Moore. "Buy-in" was probably a factor there.

So depth gets thinner at receiver. The Rebels really need to see Korvic Neat and Philander Moore elevate their production. Freeze also sounds optimistic about the return of Collins Moore. It would be a big lift at the position if Moore, who sustained a torn labrum on the second day of practice, could play this season.

Also from the mother ship, a camp notebook with good stuff from sophomore safety Cody Prewitt.

well 17MPH, "having said that" our "kids" are really working hard so maybe in a few years we'll give you some competition, well except for those with blisters, bar fetishes and the like

ginblossom, you are correct Ole Miss football is going thru some troubled times, but in my opinion Ole Miss football leadership programer did this to themselves, so they must work out of this problem that they have gotten themselves into. Not my going out into the migrator unemployed work force and picking up all the strays they can find, but go to the home grown supply of athlete and build on them. They did this once and it paid off by winning a national championship, numerous SEC honors. The Men's basketball program is very good and winning, the diamond baseball Rebels are doing good and just a matter of time and we will see them performing at Omaha.,its just that football program that is so in total collapse. The Lady sports great, just had a recent an Olympic gold medal winner.

AS for your Miss State Bulldogs and their sports programs, I wish them well and their fans happiness.

everyone should be able to make comments on any article. I realize that ole miss is going through troubling times right now and that the fan base is very sensitive about anybody saying anything about their sports programs, but you have the right to say what you want to about MState's sports too! It's what makes rivalries, well...rivalries! It goes on in every state that has two universities that are competing with each other. I love to read some of this, because it's very funny, but keep it to sports, leave religion out of it and don't get personal. Just my opinion.

For some of us Ole Miss fans that live out of state and rely on the Tupelo sports as well as other Miss News sports Service reports on the Rebel, but on here all we hear is a family feud in name calling, physical threats, and character insults and assassination, I believe the Tupelo Journal can be above all this and put some Sports news back on line.

The Journal know who all these posters are, by their E-mail address.

I do believe the Rebels will have a better season than some seem to think.

Hilarious. Both Wallace and Brunetti had offers from Cow College, although their trashy fans don't want to mention that. In other news, Starkville is still a toilet. That is all.........

Bo "The Blister" Wallace for Heisman!

Wasn't aware of the 7 game FBS losing streak. I would like to know which 3 teams are worse than Ole Mess.

ESPN ran a segment on the longest current FBS losing streaks, last night. The Blackbears have the 3rd longest FBS losing streak at 7. That is 4 from the longest of 11, held by I think Maryland. Combine that with the SEC losing streak of 14 and the departure of these two, blisters, the Channing Ward fiasco and well it's just going to be a tough year.
