Zack Stoudt's football career at Ole Miss is complete, the school has announced in a news release.

Stoudt was in his first season with the Rebels in 2011, part of a transer trio competing for the starting quarterback job along with Barry Brunetti and Randall Mackey.

Honestly, Stoudt deserved a better fate. He got some things done as a pocket passer, and Houston Nutt felt like he could be the quarterback. But pocket passers need protection, and the Rebels were lacking there last year.

When Nutt turned back to Stoudt for the LSU game last year following a Mackey suspension, Stoudt didn't look like the player he was earlier in the year. Brunetti took over and played most of the LSU game and started against MSU.

A native of Dublin, Ohio, Stoudt saw action in six games, starting four, after transferring from Iowa Western Community College. He completed 58-of-120 passes for 559 yards with two touchdowns and guided Ole Miss to a victory over Southern Illinois.

As the quarterback competition began to settle in the spring, Stoudt - when he was healthy, which wasn't often - was behind Brunetti, Mackey and Bo Wallace.

Stoudt signed with Louisville out of high school.
