From Tuscaloosa, Alabama coach Nick Saban says he'd like to see his team play sharper in victory. Other notes here from Saban's regular Monday presser in advance of the Crimson Tide's Saturday road trip to Ole Miss. Also, Saban comments on the penalty, instituted this year, that negates a touchdown if a player is flagged for taunting. It happened to LSU last Saturday against Florida. ...

Speaking of LSU, there was great uncertainty over the Tigers' quarterbacks during Jordan Jefferson's legal woes. That left journeyman Jarrett Lee as the starter in a top-five matchup against Oregon to open the season. Lee has played well, and Jefferson has returned, and now Les Miles considers quarterback play a strength of this team.
