Parrish is out on vacation. Here's an update from The Associated Press ...

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi tight end Jamal Mosley has been suspended indefinitely after he was arrested on Saturday night for public drunkenness and disturbing the peace.

"Jamal is suspended indefinitely while we review the situation," Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement.

Oxford police say Mosley and former Ole Miss player Nickolas Brassell were arrested after a disturbance in downtown Oxford. Mosley, a 6-foot-4, 260-pound senior, is the team's No. 2 tight end on the depth chart going into the fall after he caught 12 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown last season.

Brassell also was charged with disturbing the peace. Brassell is now enrolled at East Mississippi Community College because he was academically ineligible at Ole Miss.

couldnt have said it better myself deacon... both Lebonhuer and St Jude are right up the road, Oxford is just deast of one of the poorest section in the entire country, there has been no shortage of natural disasters recently...if nothing else how about spending a little time studying since academic probation, etc seems to be another current theme.... while I am sure there are plenty of players engaged in worthwhile causes there can never be too much when shenanigans like this continue to occur time and time again.

Too bad we aren't reading news about how these players are working within the communtity, like visiting sick children or helping establish a reading program for underprivileged kids. No, instead we have players who are getting drunk, provoking altercations with peace officers. My coaches always told us "nothing good ever happens after midnight" Freeze should have the clamps down on these players. Freeze has no experience in dealing with the kinds of young men that attend this great university. What a great way to kick off the upcoming season...more police stories

Wonder why no coverage regarding the Brutus and Carter criminal activities? CL must get all of the leads on issues such as these.....

Seems like a fair punishment to my my friend. Too bad things cant work like that....He might realize that you know what, theres lots worse things out there than football practice... who knows, something like that just might shock some sense into him before he ends up like his buddy Brassell.

Mosely public drunkenness and disturbing the peace: punished by Article 15 UCMJ, thereby reduced in grade to the next lowest grade and assigned to the work detail on the Miss Hwy for 30 days. Case closed.

Brassell not to return to Ole Miss and left at the mercy of the Courts of Lafayette Co. Mississippi. Case closed.
