I have placed a text message and a call to Pete Boone this morning for a few questions. I hope to reach him later today.

Boone sent an email to season ticket holders shortly after midnight that spoke of a Sunday meeting with Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt, restated Boone's belief that Saturday's football performance was “unacceptable,” restated the school's commitment to compete at a “championship level,” and urged season ticket holders to continue to support the team in “another SEC weekend” Saturday at home against Georgia.

oh yeah?, well, this was my first year in I believe 12 to not buy season tickets...all of the humiliation, coupled with the statement from the Alumni Association I discussed in the other thread finally just pushed me over the edge.

This Rebel fan is getting fed up with the mediocrity of our WHOLE athletic department. I am proud to be an Ole Miss Rebel, but last year coupled with this season (so far) makes me hesitant to wear my Rebel gear in public; I get tired of having to answer questions about our mascot and the state of our football program. Don’t get me wrong, I still sport my attire but I am having trouble justifying why I put myself through the unwanted attention it is causing me. I try my best to stick up for my teams, but I find myself becoming part of the “glass half-empty” group, wondering if things will ever get better. I don’t have the credentials to provide the solutions, but it is pretty sad when my wife watches only part of the Vandy game and makes the same comments about our team that anyone of us avid football fans would notice. I am over all of the pre-season and pre-game excuses (we are young, Vandy catches us early, wait until 2012, blah blah blah) that Nutt is constantly feeding us, there should never be built in excuses BEFORE you play a game/season. I want leadership with vision and that demands success and accountability from his coaches, and I want coaches that don’t make excuses and that demands the very best from his players EVERY game. Derrick Herman, I’m talking to you buddy, along with some of your other teammates. At lease show some heart and work hard. Sorry, that’s my tangent.

the obnoxious State fans will always point and laugh. However, I cannot. I watched the entire game vs Vandy and I laughed for a few minutes, but then it just became pitiful.

State was there. Started with Maine and ended with that beatdown in Oxford for Croom's last game. A lot of similarities.

And yes, I think in a weird way, it started with FDWL and the bear.....Ole Miss will not be the same until SOMETHING changes.

Please ask Boone, what about keeping the status quo will make anything change from the unacceptable to acceptable? Nutt is making no changes in coaches or players. Isn't insanity doing the same thing over and again while expecting a different outcome? This is what you get when you hire a failed banker, that knows nothing about sports, to be your a.d. And just look at Danny Jones, what chancellor has commerials advertising themselves? He is a goofball. It just kills my soul what has become of the University I love so dearly. ROCK BOTTOM!

HOw in the world can boone ask or expect fans to come spend their hard earned money to watch the excuse for a football team that has played this year. I always have and always will love my REBELS but I can't.justify spending my money any more this year. I look forward every year to football season and to have the kind of season we have had last year and will have this year is unacceptable in my book. Ever since the STUPID BEAR WAS MADE OUR ATHLETIC PROGRAM HAS GONE TO NOTHING! BRING BACK COLONEL REB AND GET A NEW COACHING STAFF THAT CARES AND IS HUNGRY TO WIN YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT!!!
