If you were unable to listen to Ole Miss athletics director Pete Boone's radio interview you can catch it here on the website for "Head to Head" with Richard Cross and Matt Wyatt. Boone was interviewed by both for about 40 minutes discussing criticism of his job, frustration with football and other topics. The interview is divided into three segments.
Beyond trading voice mail messages with me over the weekend, these were Boone's first public comments since last Saturday when Twitter and the web buzzed with rumors of his resignation. He emphatically denied the rumor Sunday evening.
Take a listen and leave your thoughts below. Does this radio interview make Ole Miss fans feel better during a time of turbulence and uncertainty regarding the football program and the administration? Or is the turbulence a product of a vocal minority and web chatter?
With that said, I don't want us to jump the gun here. We did it when Cutcliffe had an off season and no one wanted the HC job at Ole Miss. I'm not saying I think we should have kept Cutcliffe, but we probably should have given him another year to fail. Same with Nutt. Whether it was with Orgeron's recruits or b/c he was a good coach, he brought us two amazing years his first two seasons. We need to let him finish the season and then we can discuss whether we need change or not.
How about a coach who looks like he has gotten "comfortable". We all can see it, why do they think Nutt can turn it around? Many questions need answering, but nobody in charge seems to want to take responsibility for answering the questons.
