Ole Miss has a chance for two big wins today, the first coming 4 1-2 hours before the baseball game. In non-College Station Regional news, Jackson Prep quarterback Ryan Buchanan is set to go public with a verbal commitment today at 2.

He lists Alabama, Florida, Mississippi State and Ole Miss as his contenders.

Scout.com ranks Buchanon as the No. 30 quarterback prospect in the country. That would be quite a pick-up for Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze at a position where the Rebels have been unable to sign and develop a solid high school player for quite some time.

Counting backward with the last eight quarterbacks to start games for Ole Miss, seven of them have been, from either juco or D1 programs, transfers into the program. The Rebels had three different transfer starters last year alone in Barry Brunetti, Zack Stoudt and Randall Mackey.
