i totally agree. i heard rumors of the black bear way before the "voting" began. It boils down to a rich alumni wanted our new mascot to be a bear, so we now have a bear. something like a patriot would have been a better option.

I think this black bear mascot has been in the works a while from the university administration. Last year around this time, I was in Dick's Sporting Goods and saw a black teddy bear wearing an Ole Miss cheerleader dress.
