Summing it up: “This is obviously a big game for us, a big game for Georgia, as all SEC games are, and we need to have our fans behind us. I'd like to encourage them to come to the game and be there early, wear red and be loud, full of excitement and cheer these coaches and these kids on.”  - Ole Miss athletics director Pete Boone

Prediction: Georgia 27, Ole Miss 13

I'm astonished at what Ole Miss continues to accept. Where is the accountability? Are Richt and Nutt tied together with Sexton because Mark took it easy on his pal today. This game was a joke. Ga. tried three field goals today when they could have easily gone for first downs and made this alot uglier that it was. I know it, everybody knows it. Its not all Nutt, Boone and his chronies have created this mess with poor hires and a culture that breeds losing and a broken spirit. Enough is enough. Heads are going to roll and if Boone isn't at the top of the list, its a travesty. This once proud university is a laughingstock and rightfully so.....The whole thing makes me sick.

FINAL: Georgia 27, Ole Miss 13 (Check out my prediction above)

Georgia finished with 475 total yards, but the Rebels stiffened in the red zone, and Georgia missed three field goals.

Just 183 yards for Ole Miss, one offensive touchdown, one special teams touchdown. Two touchdowns by Jeff Scott called back on penalties.

The mood in the postgame was disappointment as you might imagine. Coaches felt like the Rebels played harder though, harder than they did at Vanderbilt.

They believe they're close to turning a corner. The general feeling was that line play was better. There were more running lanes, though the backs didn't always complete the runs. Pass protection was better.

OC David Lee had an interesting quote as he expressed concern about the team keeping its mental edge: "At this point when you look at coming off this season and the lack of success last season you worry about your players say, 'Oh boy, here we go again.' That's the attitude that cannot set into your team. I went up to each player in the locker room and touched on that and told them to just keep fighting.”

More in the Day After Observations tomorrow.

HALFTIME

Georgia 24, Ole Miss 13

The game is not as close as the score indicates.

Total offense: Georgia 289, Ole Miss 134

Rushing: Georgia 25-131, Ole Miss 18-18

Passing: Georgia 7-14-1 INT. 158 yards, 2 TD. Ole Miss 6-14-1 INT. 116 yards, 1 TD.

Individuals

Georgia, Crowell 14 carries, 92 yards. Murray 7-for-14, 158, 2 TD, 1 INT. 2 sacks

Ole Miss, Jeff Scott 7 carries, 29 yards. Bolden 4 carries, 2 yards. Stoudt 3-for-8, 38 yards, 2 sacks. Mackey 3-for-6, 78 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Moncrief 2 catches, 56 yards, 1 TD. Brassell 2 catches, 52 yards.

Brassell has the other TD on an 81-yard return on a reverse.

There have been some nice individual plays for Ole Miss, but this will ultimately come down to blocking and tackling, and the Rebels aren't getting much done there.

Sure am glad my son is in a baseball tournament today cause this is ugly already. No better than last week. I just dont think we are going to win but one more game. Sowell and Morris are getting blown up like a hot air balloon. Love my Rebs, but got to let it go for a while or Im going to end up having a stroke. What we need to know is its just a game. The referees I think road up with Ga. This is just ugly, thats all I can say.

Amazed how that if this team is so unified...how that every OL (after they block NO ONE) can turn & walk away from their QB & not help him up after a sack. Those 5 wouldn't touch the field again if I had to put DB's up front.
