Breaking news here from a source with knowledge. Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy will plea to a disorderly conduct -- a fourth-degree misdemeanor in the state of Ohio -- and not the simple assault with which he was charged after an altercation with a cab driver on Dec. 18 in Cincinnati.

Kennedy will appear in court in Cincinnati to make the plea on Monday, which is his scheduled trial date. There will be no trial.

The plea does not immediately affect the civil suits filed by cab driver Mohamed Jiddou and Kennedy against one another. However, Jiddou's suit charges Kennedy with assault. After the plea on Monday the state of Ohio will not recognize assault, which could impact Jiddou's case.

I think AK just wants this over with. I don't blame him. Huertas did know that he would face tough competition but I also think he is just ready to go back home and make some money. I don't blame him either. I look forward to an excited Basketball season with the young Rebels. I am concerned that they have lost two starters though having left the team.

RPMJR, having not spoke when David, I don't know the complete picture, but I think that's certainly a point worth considering.

So AK gets community service and a fine? He's getting off even lighter than I thought he would. Nice scoop PA. This is PA's turf!

Hard to think about basketball without regretting Huertas has left. I wonder if David realized he would have to challenge for his starting spot next year, with Warren and T. White in the backcourt.
