I emailed Ross Bjork this morning to check on the status of talks with Ole Miss basketball coach Andy Kennedy regarding his contract.

One year has been added to the contract along with what is described as other minor changes regarding incentives.

With the additional year, Kennedy is under contract through 2015, one year less than four-year contracts allowed by state law.

Here's the statement from Bjork:

"Andy and I spent some time together prior to and over the Final Four weekend and reached an agreement to extend the existing contract one year (through the 2014-2015 seasons) with minor changes to the incentive agreement in light of the additional SEC regular season games. I'm looking forward to learning more and watching this program get to the next level. I know Andy has the passion and has been committing the effort to get Rebel basketball there."

That smell is the wacky weed you've been smoking. Still haven't seen you post all those wins bullet head has had a head coach ...

Since Bigknocker wants to compare assistant stats, NCAA appearances for Cincinnati 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 for Kennedy as an assistant. Since math isn't Turfguy's strong suit, I'll add it up for you. That's 5 NCAA tourneys in a row. For Bigknocker, that's one more than bullethead.

He may be the best coach to ever walk on a court, but he has exactly 0 wins as a head coach. Time will tell ...

"Let's see. The last team Bullet-head coached on (as an assistant) had a 16-15 record last year. Kennedy had 24-11, 20-14, and 20-13 the past 3 years. They must teach some kind of new math down there to the Heiferpuppies for that to be better."

The math is a lot different....Bullethead spent 2 years at Clemson as an assistant. Those two years were 16-15 and 22-12 (NCAA tournament). His last 3 years at Purdue (assistant) they were 29-6, 27-10, and 22-12....all 3 years in the NCAA tournament. That's 4 NCAA tournament trips more than squidward.

Hey Julius,

The college at Oxfart is stinking up the SEC and has stunk it up for a long time. Bad news is that it's not going to get any better for the Reblebears, not with Mizzu and A&M joining. the good news is that one thing is for sure..and that is as long as Mstate exists, then you can count on Mstate beating you down, like the candy sucking whimps that you are. Oh, and I love myself being qouted...that shows that you really admire what I post....I could go on, but you brought skittles to a gun fight, dude! n out!

Let's do use SEC championships as a bench mark. The coach that was fired (retired - lol) from the Heiferpups won one SEC championship. Bullet-head? the same number as Kennedy ....

"you will find that the Heiferpuppies has held their own over the past 15 years and more"

And how many of those were coached by Bullet-head?

Let's use SEC basketball championships as a benchmark. How many SEC championships has Ole Myth won in the past 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? Take Kentucky out of the picture and you will find that Mstate has held their own over the past 15 years and more.

Check out Athlon's latest SEC football coaching rankings and you will see #1 Saban #5 Mullen and #13 Huge Freeze, hey but he is ahead of Joker Phillips

"and the unknown Rick Ray is better than the known Squidward who is a total failure"

Let's see. The last team Bullet-head coached on (as an assistant) had a 16-15 record last year. Kennedy had 24-11, 20-14, and 20-13 the past 3 years. They must teach some kind of new math down there to the Heiferpuppies for that to be better. Guess you must the national debt is falling too ...

I think the Rebels have done very well under coach Kennedy

twenty game seasonal winner during his stay in Oxford. Its a much better basketball program there when, I lived in Lafayette County. About ten or fifteen game win per season in those days. but I must admit in those days horses and wagons were tied up and parked around the court house square. a nickle would but a coke and the small cafe in back of Winters hardware store on the South side of the square had some of the best hamburgers one could find South of Memphis. Col Reb was in full command and the Rebel football team was national winners. City Grocer was just that and not a cafe. Ritz and lyric theaters put on movies that the family could view without getting offended. The Trailway bus station nearby and if any one there did not like Oxford they could take one of those buses , North,South, East or West. buses ran frequently with seating space available.

I bet Bjork is trying to find a way for Huge Freeze to have a bike wreck, with Kennedy on the back. And by bike wreck, I mean BI cycle.

Turfguy wasn't crowing about anything Mstate has done. Turfguy was just trying to save Oxfart college of Wayward Coaches some money. Music City bowl beats the heck out of where the Rebelbears will be going in the next 5 years, which is nowhere. Mstate will not accept mediocrity as in Squidward's 7 years and not one NCAA tourny, so yeah it was time for Clownsbury to leave and the unknown Rick Ray is better than the known Squidward who is a total failure, except for punching taxi drivers. The video is the laughing stock of the entire USA, ESPN showed it and they were laughing about what an embarrassment it was to both teams. Rebelbears are so ignorant, they don't even realize when they a being made fun of. GEEEEEEZE!

I am still trying to get a handle on folks who want to come over here and offer negative comments on Ole Miss Sports. Lets review, State goes to a meager bowl after what seemed a turn around season.

They only went there after beating a coachless Ole Miss team with a quarterback, and running back suspended,

Basket ball--went from ranked to falling a part.

( by the way nothing against Coach Rick, thought he was the one bright spot to state)

Baseball--going back wards also, a team that once was expected to play in super regionals and Omaha

now are horrible.

Yeah I can see why State fans would come over to Olemiss Sports and crow like they have done something!!!!

I am pro sec meaning when teams are not playing the rebs and are playing out of conference I pull for the SEC . Even State, State fans who want to come over here ought to go back and watch the video of Southern and Rebs playing in the rain.

King of reminds you of what it is all about.

Thumbs up to the d.journal for making that video possible. I really liked it

Or they could have done like the Heiferpuppies and persuade one of the most successful coaches they've ever had to retire (fired ...), tried to hire several coaches and discovered no one wanted the job, and hired a complete unknown ...

hey I have an idea....The Rebelbears could've saved a ton of money and got a "coaching bundle". A coaching bundle is where you get a women's basketball coach, in this case Huge Freeze and have hime coach football, women's hoops and men's hoops. It kinda like vonage, but for college sports. Trollin....trollin...trollin on the reblebears. n out
