Ole Miss hit the practice field bright and early Monday morning at 5:30.  Here are a few observations from practice:

The starting five along the offensive line has remained the same for the past three practices. Those guys are LT Emmauel McCray, LG Aaron Morris, C Evan Swindall, RG AJ Hawkins, and RT Pierce Burton.

OL Coach Matt Luke said his first objective was to get his best five on the field, and now he is looking to build depth.

Sophomore wide receiver Nick Brassell made his first appearance of spring practice today and instantly made an impact. He caught a crossing route that he turned into a 35-yard gain and then caught a 65-yard TD from Barry Brunetti just a few plays later.

Brassell brings a new dimension to the Ole Miss offense, but it remains to be seen whether he can get his academics in order.

WR Collins Moore also made a few nice grabs during the team drills. Brunetti looked to have his best day of spring practice today. Randall Mackey also had a 40-yard run during team drills, which Freeze let them play live all the way. In my opinion, Mackey will see some sort of role in the offense somewhere, as he also had a pair of nice TD runs in the scrimmage Friday.

WR Donte Moncrief, Husky Brishen Matthews, and LB Mike Marry all practiced at full strength after missing practice time last week. RB Jeff Scott showed up with flu like symptoms today, so the coaching staff kept him out.
