A few highlights from Houston Nutt's Sunday teleconference …

Nutt did not mention any personnel moves in the wake of a 30-7 loss at Vanderbilt. He said he's “looking hard at Aaron Morris and really everybody” along the offensive line, but he didn't say any changes were imminent. He mentioned Morris, the true freshman last week, but Morris did not play against Vanderbilt.

“There are not that many calls being made. Once they get to the line of scrimmage, once that snap gets going, the calls have been made. It's a matter of coming off and performing, executing the block fundamentally, getting the step right. Movement (of defensive fronts) has given us problems, and we have to get better at that.”

Five interceptions from Zack Stoudt did not improve the standing of Barry Brunetti. Assuming Randall Mackey can go, it's still Stoudt-Mackey at quarterback.

Mackey left the game in the fourth quarter with a thigh bruise. There was no update on his health today. Nutt said he'll know more tomorrow.

“Zack is our starter right now. We'll see how Mackey is, and we'll continue to go this route. If we could have protected Stoudt we've had been OK. We have to protect him though. All those interceptions weren't his, and we feel the more Mackey plays, the better he'll get as well.”

Nutt praised Wayne Dorsey for his play. The senior defensive end has now put two good games together.

Freshman Nick Brassell will meet with the defensive backs now. His emphasis has changed. He'll still get a few reps with the offense, but his focus will be defense.

Nutt, as coordinator David Lee did in the postgame, indicated a desire to further simplify the offense.

“We feel we need to cut some things down and get really good at things we're going to be able to execute. It doesn't do you any good to have a long play list if you're not going to be able to call those. That's what we feel like we've gotten into.”

Nutt said there haven't been separate playlists for Stoudt and Mackey.

“Not really. It's been one package. The only thing different for Mackey is he has a little more option.”

Where do you see a second win? Unless someone forfeits I just don't see one.

Basketball is down. Baseball is down. Football is at rock bottom. Who's calling the shots for our athletic programs? We need a MAJOR overhaul!!!!!!

Nutt need to change his offense it is out of date. His old type of offense is the thing of the past.Running the football up the middle all the time doesn't work anymore. He got to get some young coaches with new ideas.I see Ole Miss going 2 win and 10 loses.
