Special thanks to Hayden Sowers for handling Houston's Sunday afternoon teleconference. We are heading to the airport now. Never flown on a red-eye before. Should be interesting. Presser tomorrow, open week then the Rebels are at home against Alabama.

- PA

Q:  Houston do you think you found your guy in Randall?

A: “It looks like it right now, just very proud of the way he executed. Thought he stood in the pocket very well and went through his reads and when it broke down he took off and avoided the sack and made some real big plays for us, and we are real proud of the way he played.”

Q:  How did you come out with injuries?

A: “I don’t know right now. We didn’t get in until 8 o’clock so I let them all sleep until 5, so I really won’t know until 5 o’clock.”

Q:  How big is this bye week for yall?

A: “I think it’s really, really big. Comes at a time we can take advantage of get everybody really completely healthy as we go into the teeth of our schedule so it always helps us. Especially the ones who have been injured and now they can get a little extra treatment, little extra rest and be able to get some things done during practice time this week to be able to get better.”

Q:  How big was the win against Fresno? Just to calm the waters and have everything a little less stressful? Do you think it’s easier on you and the team?

A: “It definitely is much easier on the team. I think you know because you’ve been it long enough, that if you don’t win that game then you could imagine what people would write.  It’s just the negativity, and it starts to get in your mind as a team. That was the one thing I was proud of, we got behind 7-0, 14-13, and boy they kept fighting. That’s a really good sign, and they kept executing so to answer your question to go that many miles and play a ballgame against a team that has been to a bowl last 10, 11 years straight, that was a huge win for us, especially for our psyche.”

Q:  Talk a little bit about Donte Moncrief just coming up big again and he kinda looked like he had a nice burst on his reception. Just talk about him some more.

A: “He really did show a tremendous burst on that screen for us, and he has made some big catches for us. We saw it all the way through camp and now these freshman receivers, him, Brassell, Tobias, Collins, all of the freshman I’ve been very very proud of. Donte has been very mature with his work ethic, his attitude he’s been very unselfish with his blocking downfield so he is a tremendous playmaker, going to be something special.”

Q:  Can you talk about the decision to start Alex Washington at guard and how did he perform?

A: “Alex just gives you a little bit more knowledge and experience, but Aaron (Morris) is right there,  Aaron and Patrick Junen both are guys that we are not afraid to put in the game. They are good players, they are just young. Alex just has a little bit more experience, and they way teams are moving around on us so much we just felt like he gave us the best chance in there consistently of doing what we needed to do.”

My grandfather, great uncle, father, uncle, aunt, brother, and myself all graduated from MSU and I talk to die hard fans all the time and NO ONE is ready to panic about the Dawgs. They have lost to LSU - the No. 1 team in the nation, Auburn - who just beat a good South Carolina team and whose only loss was to a very good Clemson team, and to a Georgia team that is better than most people think. There is still a lot of football to be played and besides the automatic L to Bama, the Dawgs can compete with everyone left on the schedule. Real fans are still on board and we are leaving it to Ole Miss fans to panic and run everyone out of town. GO DAWGS!

Perhaps it be better if Mr. Jones and Mr. Boone just go ahead and fire that entire Ole Miss football coaching staff to include Coach Nutt's recruits Black Bear thrown, giving them 24 hours to GET OUT OF TOWN. Then start all over again from basics with Ole Col REB in command. :-).

GO REBELS!!!!!!!

They still looked bad in spots but it was better

you could see it and it was a win, the best game so far. Fresno was as good as byu or vandi but yet we won. So maybe we do see better things. Today i see more reasons than to be happy then MIss State. Them poor folks have to wonder do they have a one hit wonder. They look worse every game.

We know Houston can coach when he has talent,

So maybe he does turn it around, It is a good MOnday to be a Rebel and if I was a State Fan i would be wondering a little bit. If we wanted to be ugly we could go over on there board and make comments and ask questions, but we got more class than to do that after a losss. Hopefully Mullins pulls it together and they both go into the egg bowl on a streak, that makes it great for both schools

Agree with Turf and Raleigh... I mean its good to be optimistic after a win, but come on it was Fresno State. We will be lucky to get one SEC win, getting two would be right up there with Moses parting the Red Sea. And yes, that offensive line if still offensive to watch. Who is the O-line coach anyway? May as well throw hois name in there with Jones and Boone because obviously he is content.

Rotten wood looks okay after it has a fresh coat of paint applied, but it is still rotten underneath.

I hear Pena was almost cast out at practice. He is complaining he doesnt think he is getting enough reps. I dont think they served cake and ice cream today. PA, I dont know if you noticed or not but #44, I believe Charlie Scott, was horrible, as well. Its just too much to name but I saw him fall down three times so he wouldnt have to make contact. Between he and Pena, they almost gave the game away for us. Sowell was still getting blown up by linemen half his size. Our biggest thing is we are slow and have no rythme. FS effectively moved the ball because they had a good fast tempo. Had they stayed with their ground game, this may have been a totally different outcome. The players are out of touch with the fans, as well. At every away game I have ever gone to Ole Miss players almost always congregate in front of the OM section for a round of Hotty Toddy and some high fives, no such thing anymore. I can honestly say this is the worst Ive seen OM in my life time. However, I think all of these things can be corrected. I think something has to be done about Sowell. He is almost aways on his heels. I personally think they are out of shape. Nutt called every one of those timeouts cause they are so out of shape, he knows they dont have the wind for three downs. OM will get better, I think. Although, Im certain we get hammered by LSU and Alabama. It will be like a go cart in Nascar.

Am I reading too much into these Ole Miss NFL players acknowledging their High School over their college? The Ole Miss players seem to be the only ones doing it on Sunday/Monday night. I've seen Peria Jerry, Mike Wallace and now Michael Oher do it, and all of these guys seemed to have good relationships with Ole Miss. Just seems strange.
