Highlights from the Sunday teleconference with Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt. ...
Nutt said he also said he intends to talk to SEC coordinator of officials Steve Shaw about opposing defensive linemen who will try to draw offensive linemen into false starts by calling out fake signals and snap counts, especially in short-yardage and goalline situations.
Overall, Nutt said he was really pleased with both guards, freshman Aaron Morris, who made his second start, as well as Matt Hall, the Arkansas transfer who has started every game at right guard.
Nutt seemed very encouraged by Morris, who played 78 plays with three knockdowns and three missed assignments.
“He really did a good job of finishing blocks. He did some awfully good things. There were a couple of pass protections where they did some twists that he got confused on.”
Brandon Bolden's product dipped after he limped off the field favoring his ankle late in the second quarter. Bolden had 61 rushing yards at the time and finished with 68. Nutt said Bolden will be at practice today. “I don't know if he's 100 percent, but he's fine,” Nutt said.
Also classified as “fine” was running back Jeff Scott. Something happened with Scott, got his bell rung or something, late in the third quarter. “He'll be fine as well,” Nutt said.
Did you notice much support for the "blackout"?
