Brewer has coached some big wide receiver names in college football, guys like Randy Moss, Dez Bryant, D'Juan Woods and Justin Blackmon.

He'll have an opportunity to make his mark early on, because he's coming into a position that needs a good deal of “coaching up.”

The Rebels return some experience at receiver but no game-breaker. The incoming talent brings lots of possibilities, but the newcomers will need direction, and Brewer will have to decide where to fit the pieces.

The son of former Ole Miss coach Billy Brewer, Gunter knows the layout of Ole Miss football. Having a link to the past isn't a bad thing. The Billy Brewer Era had its controversy, but it had on the field success too, and the Brewers appeal to the sense of history at Ole Miss.

Gunter Brewer's most important contribution will be what he can do for the future. As passing game coordinator it will be interesting to see what impact he makes in an offense that will strive to run the football.

Whether blocking for their teammates or stretching the field with newly acquired speed, I think the receivers will play with organization and purpose.
