Eight runs on 14 hits for Ole Miss in an 8-2 win Saturday night. Home runs by Matt Smith and Matt Snyder and a big night from Tim Ferguson.

Starting pitcher Phillip Irwin went only 2 1-3 innings, and that my be a spot that needs to be addressed for the postseason rotation.

Closer Jake Morgan threw an easy ninth last night, his only inning of the series, so he's fresh to back up Scott Bittle as the Rebels go for the sweep today. Game time is 1 p.m.

Matt, sorry I'm late getting back to you here. Looks like 2011 did a fine job. I was working on different things around the house and was relying on reports from Kyle, who camped by the TV. Didn't hear the Pepto thing till later, though.

This is a much different scene from last year when the Rebels didn't qualify for Hoover till the last day of the regular season. Needed that guy with a sore bicep to get it done then.

Thanks for the info 2011. I heard the commentators later mention the soreness, but like I said before, I did see him drinking Pepto in the dugout. I don't really care what is right, as long as he is ready when we need him. Bukvich did matchup pretty good against them today with all the lefties. I'm not sure who is better for our Saturday starts. We will need them all when we roll into Hoover. Winning Wednesday and Thursday are the keys to getting to Sunday on that deal. Pretty impressive weekend for our Rebs. Lots of work still left to go.

Matt, Bittle had soreness in his right bicep, but Bianco said that it was good news, because its bad when its in the back of the shoulder but his was just in his arm and he should be fine for next week. Also, Bianco felt good with Bukvich against Auburn who has 7 lefties in their lineup. Also he said that Bukvich would probably take Irwins spot in the rotation against State next week.

PA, what is going on down in Auburn. Bittle is shown in the Live Stats as one of the pitchers of record, however, Buckvich is pitching and has faced all 3 batters (just finished 1st inning while I'm writing this). Is Scott hurt?
