Most of them did anyway. One notable name missing among the veterans is senior defensive end Gerald Rivers.

Among the newcomers, defensive linemen Channing Ward and Temario Strong did not report, but school's news release said Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze "hopes" that Ward and Strong will be with the team "in the coming days."

Rivers' status is less clear. Freeze said at Media Days in Hoover that he had "serious concerns" about four players regarding academics.

A school spokesman said it's possible Rivers could join the team at a later day.

Rivers appeared in all 12 games last year, starting five. He finished with 13 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. On the post-spring depth chart he was listed No. 2 at left defensive end behind C.J. Johnson.

Seven SEC Teams Ranked in USA Today Football Poll. Ole Miss not mentioned, but I see this as good - no pressure on them - just play one game at a time - and do their best - this is good the way I see it and I believe things will be looking up for them.

Academia.. I hate that Mullen missed out on these guys! Better raise the price of tacos and get funds to build a learning center.
