Checking in from Bentonville. Actually, this was supposed to be checking in from Little Rock, but plans changed.

Wrapped up the print eidition stuff a few minutes ago, and it's now in the hands of our copy desk which will create a good-looking display in tomorrow's Daily Journal.

I will be traveling tomorrow and will post Day After Observations sometime in the afternoon.

One observation tonight. If the Rebels can't tackle Knile Davis, can they tackle Cam Newton? He ran for 217 on LSU, the best defense in the league. The Heisman may be Newton's to lose now.

M4: TN has been a great team for 2-3 quarters this year too, maybe we can play better for more quarters in Knoxvegas. I agree that we have the ability to beat AU, but not when allowing big runs. Time to step up LB's.

If the weather is good, the crowd should be rowdy with a later start, being Halloween and hosting the best team in the country. Even if we lose to the #1 team, hope we prevent a long run and leave a crack in Newtons helmet!

I'm just tired of being "shoulda, coulda, woulda" Ole Miss. If we just made plays instead of mistakes, we'd win games instead of losing them. We don't make tackles and they reel off a 97 yard TD and a 71 yard TD.

We get it to 7, twice, with offensive momentum, and our defense lays down like an old picnic blanket. We gotta have some fire to beat good teams. We came out as flat as any game we've played. We can win Saturday, believe it or not. If it wasn't for the big plays, I'd feel FOR SURE about this weekend. We have a "Cam Newton" type player that we prepare against every week. He's not exactly Newton, but our defense shouldn't be surprised when the guy tucks and runs. We should be ready.....but again....

Will we be SHOULDA, COULDA, WOULDA....or the real Ole Miss...ok, maybe we don't want to be the real Ole Miss.....just a good team for 4 quarters.

PA, don't know if you saw my post after your Q&A with the AR writer, but did you get a chance to ask some of the Hogs media and fans - Where does the Ole Miss hatred/rivalry rank for Arkansas?

Newton has a tendency to lower his head and initiate contact when a defender closes in. That may be his way of protecting his knees due to his height, but this will catch up with him one day.

I think our LINEBACKERS are to blame for all of the long runs this year. Anyone else have a specific area to blame? Isn't Nix a former LB? Maybe he can coach up our LB's and teach them how to tackle (ie P. Willis). Please teach them how to put some dents in Newton's helmet when he lowers his head!

Churn - Auburn definitely SHOULD be this weeks #1, but they are limited by their preseason rank and poll voters won't let them jump a WAC and PAC team because of this. Wacky

It is possible that Auburn could be No. 1 in this week's in the polls.

Sorry to say this, but the Rebels are in deep trouble. They could wind up this season as it was in the days of coach O. They could possible win three (3) more game, La, Vols and Miss State with a 6-6 final record.
