Spanning the globe, or at least the Southeastern US, on a Tuesday morning. ...

From the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze says "The Blind Side" movie about the life of Michael Oher is very important in his recruiting. "It's always discussed," says Freeze, who hopes that discussion will lead to landing the nation's top recruit, defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche, whose brother Denzell is a safety-linebacker with the Rebels right now. ...

From the Sun-Herald, Day One of the Rebel Road Trip ends before a crowd of Ole Miss fans on the Coast. Freeze, Ross Bjork and others athletic department members began the day in Meridian and had lunch in Waynesboro on the way to the Coast. Freeze called the first day "phenomenal." ...

From Mobile, Nick Saban is on the road too and tells his crowd the thing he's most proud of from his 2011 Alabama football team is how it handled its regular season loss to LSU. ...

Also from Alabama, Larry Hennessey, a long-time assistant coach under Bear Bryant, has died. ...

From Fayetteville, Arkansas players react to the hiring of John L. Smith as interim coach in the Bobby Petrino aftermath. ...

brewerjx3, sound like you have a bone here to pick and could it be that you may have been short sheeted in all this coaching changes. iF so get over it!!! I feel that Coach Freeze is going to do a great Job for the Ole Miss Rebels. Archie Manning had faith in him, and that's good enough for me.

Just because he's a christian and you're a christian doesn't mean he is/is not over his head. I'm betting Nutt was a christian - how did that end up?. Most, if not all, Southern coaches use religion as a recruiting tool. Tubberville required that all players go to church

Sunday mornings. He didn't care which church, just that the athlete made an appearance.

Freeze was hired to win games. Ole Miss is a state (not religious) institution.

"Huge Freeze was in over his head". I come to the defense of Coach Freeze it is my belief he is a strong Christian Believer, and if you remember back when the job was offered him, he said we will need pray about, so he an wife did just that and later accepted the job. So me as a Christian Believer, I believe the Lord gave him the go ahead. If so we shall see great things happening with the Ole Miss Rebels in the next few years.

Ding dang ! All I said was that I thought Huge Freeze was in over his head. Look at his experience, high school women's hoops and football, a stint under ragin' cajun Orgeron, and coaching the red wolves of Arky State? That just isn't that great of a resume. I would hope that Mstate's AD has Petrino's number on his short list, with others like Mike Leach, Jim Mclewain, and others. You never know when your coach will flatten out or jump to the highest bidder..best be prepared or you could end up of with a doofus like Huge Freeze and being the pucnhline of national media.

Chichis, you lost me at government funding. Ya'll ease up on JB, good man, earned the right to speak his two cents, God knows we've put up with your 71 (according to my sources) predictions that amounted to zilch. You Cali tree huggers have an issue with Waffle House, kinda like it myself when I'm up in that part of the woods for breakfast, little artery clogger never hurt every once in a while.

I'd have to side with Churn. His statements are usually well-thought out, even though they may be only opinion. Unlike the other person, he usually has some experience, history, or facts to back up his assertions. If you would ignore the comments from the grass man, he would go away like most other 12 year-olds. (I know - I've responded to some of his juvenile posts too, but finally figured out he is just seeking attention).

And like Churn said, don't become like those from That University Rebels Dislike (how's that for an acronym?) and boast before the game is played. Sometimes even the worst teams can pull off wins over good teams like Tennessee.

I 2nd Raleigh. This is what happens when government funding is cut for the retarded and disabled; they let these people out, they go to the library and use the computer because their momma doesn't have anywhere else to drop them off while she is working a the Waffle House.

It just kills their soul that Ole Miss is beating State in every sport this year. Guess those billboards don't help when you actually have to play the games before they are W's.

No exactly sure if turfguy, is an avid Ole Miss friend or foe, but he does exercise freedom of speech and stating his views, like it or not.

Now:

I think Ole Miss is using this "blind Side" movie thing as an another one of their "Political Correctness" ploy to deceive the public. Their sports media is one of their tools of getting it aired. Oxford Eagle and others.
