New Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze has said from the beginning that he's trying to rebuild the talent base and that fans should not look at numbers of wins for the Rebels next season but how hard the team competes.

Well, Freeze turned in a very strong showing for the football program on Monday. He represented Ole Miss in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl Challenge, a charity golf event involving college football coaches near Atlanta.

In the longest drive portion of the event, Freeze was second among nine coaches with a drive of 276.3 yards. Miami's Al Golden was first at 303 yards. Mississippi State's Dan Mullen was ninth at 227.3 yards. ...



The Ole Miss men's and women's tennis teams will entertain fans today at an open house at the Palmer-Salloum Tennis Center beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The occasion is the NCAA tournament selection show. The women's field will be announced at 4 p.m., followed by the men at 4:30. Both teams reached the semifinals in their respective SEC tournaments, and both are in consideration as first-round NCAA host sites. ...

The Ole Miss women's golf team learned Monday that it has received an NCAA bid for a fourth-straight year. The Rebels will compete in the regional at Ohio State May 10-12.

Although coach Mullen was last in the event he said he felt like he won and that he believed that was his golf course ! Also stated that he invented golf.

Finally found something the Rebelbears can beat Mstate in...long drives? While Mullen was out recruiting, viewing tape, planning for the upcoming season and polishing the Golden Egg trophy. Huge Freeze was at the range practicing his golf game!
