Among the coming upgrades of the indoor practice facility for Ole Miss will be a cafeteria that will also be open to the general student body and the public.
Ole Miss AD Ross Bjork likes the idea of the public mingling with the school's athletes.
“Part of our job is to be accessible to the community, to have our student-athletes interact, to allow people to get to know our student-athletes. It's a higher level of involvement for our people. Anything we can do that is compliant, we're always looking for that opportunity.”
Presently the IPF includes a “warming” kitchen which does not allow for full-scale meal preparation on site. That will change with a new kitchen.
More changes will be evident when fall semester classes begin in August.
“The graphics will be in by August, and people will be able to see the history of our program. They will showcase who we are … Ole Miss football and Ole Miss athletics,” Bjork said.
Upgrades are also planned for the team meeting room, players lounge, locker room and weight room.
