Linebacker Serderius Bryant and spur Keith Lewis, both freshmen, were running first team in practice Tuesday at Ole Miss and will have a chance to start against Kentucky this week.

Also running with the first team was freshman Cody Prewitt at safety. Coaches have raved about Prewitt, but his playing time has been less because of a hand injury sustained a few weeks ago. The protective club he was wearing has been removed, and Prewitt could replace Damien Jackson at strong safety this week.

Jackson was victimized on a couple of long passes against Auburn.

"The final decisions will not be made until Thursday, so they have to keep competing, but we are leaning that way right now," Ole Miss defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix said.

Elsewhere this morning ...

Georgia coach Mark Richt announced the suspension of star freshman tailback Isaiah Crowell Tuesday for this week's game against New Mexico State. The suspension continues an odd season for Crowell, who has done big things but has missed more than a little playing time as well. ...

Another freshman who won't be around this week is Arkansas WR Marquel Wade, who was suspended by the SEC for a special teams hit he leveled on Vanderbilt punter Jonathan Krause last week. Wade will miss a top-10 matchup in Fayetteville between Arkansas and South Carolina. The Gamecocks are going for their seventh-straight regular season road win. An Arkansas win would put Georgia on top in the SEC East and allow Richt, a popular hotseat choice in September, to lead the Bulldogs to Atlanta if they win out. ...

In advance of the LSU-Alabama game, Tide coach Nick Saban is getting ready for a little "trickeration" from LSU coach Les Miles. It may not be trickeration, however, but special teams that Miles uses to get an edge on Alabama. ...

Since they can play multiple overtimes untill a winner is made, I doubt there will be a tie.

Sounds like Nutt & Company are expecting alot of passing from Kentucky or they're trying to find some playmakers to make a big play against Kentucky. Clear the cupboards and find somebody who can play. A desperate move, indeed.

Many have labeled Kentucky v Ole MIss, the "Antithesis Game", because it is on at the same time as BAM v LSU. You can either watch the two best teams in the SEC, or watch the two worst teams in the SEC. The latter may prove to be the most interesting. I see a win in OT for the Blue and RED, with score like 42 to 36.
