Dalton Haynes, 8, of Sherman dropped by the Journal today to show the soft drink can tabs he's collecting for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

Dalton's mom, Rhonda Haynes, said he has collected about 15 gallons of tabs. Dalton, a second-grader at East Union Elementary School, began collecting because he wanted to help the children undergoing cancer treatments at the Memphis hospital.

If you have extra can tabs and would like to give them to Dalton, you can drop them off with Rhonda at Cardiology Associates in Tupelo.
