I was out of the office last week, so I was unable to compile photos for a County Snapshots photo album this time. However, I do have some news from an assignment this morning. ...

Angela McGlowan, a political analyst for FOX News, was the guest speaker at a gathering of military veterans at American Legion Post 49 in Tupelo. The veterans meet every Wednesday morning, but today was a special event with McGlowan, an Oxford resident, addressing the large crowd at the Legion hut.

McGlowan spoke on a variety of topics, including the health care bill and Republican governor wins Tuesday in Virginia and New Jersey. She thanked the veterans for their service to the country and encouraged them to contact their congressmen about health issues affecting servicemen.

"It is because of you that I have the freedom and the First Admendment to go on television to do what I do," McGlowan said. "You are the warriors that stand on the front line. You're the ones in the fox holes. You're the ones who help protect our freedom."

Befor the program, McGlowan autographed copies of her book "Bamboozled" for the veterans.

I could take Ms McGlowan more seriously if she didn't keep throwing out the cliche' " at the end of the day"...everytime I've heard and interview with her, she says it over and over and over...while I'm at it, I'm sick of Sean Hannity and other hosts continually breaking up their sentences with "you know"...."Obama is a very bad president and, you know, its only a matter of time before blah blah blah...I am a strong conservative but find Hannity's popularity intriguing and annoying...He speaks from the same bucket of remarks over and over and can't effectively engage an intelligent guest...He either changes the subject back to something he's comforable with or he gets bombastic..sheesh...
