West of Shake Rag is hosting a sparkly comedy show this weekend with its “Blinging in the New Year” show.

The glittery show starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Link Centre’s Black Box Theatre.

Music fan favorites Blue Mountain and Marah have two gigs in Northeast Mississippi this weekend.

Storytellers, musician to present ‘Oxford Unchained’ at Powerhouse


Storytellers Annie Duke, Tim Manley and Michaela Blei, artist Peter Aguero and musician Christopher Paul Stelling are bringing the Unchained Tour to Oxford.

The tour presents raconteur-style unscripted storytelling and music.

The show is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Powerhouse.

King Kobraz to play favorites at Proud Larry’s gig next week

Blake Pruett and Pat Haadsma – better known as King Kobraz – are the men behind the hit song “Rebelz/Feed Moncreif.”

In celebration of the duo’s new album, “It’s Always TSUNny in Oxford,” King Kobraz will perform at Proud Larry’s on Jan. 18.
