BOONEVILLE – The Booneville Police Department has contacted the FBI and is continuing its investigation of a Friday evening bank robbery.

According to Police Chief Michael Ramey, the downtown Renasant Bank branch was robbed at 4:57 p.m. Friday. He said a white man came into the West Market Street bank, passed a note demanding money to one of the tellers and left with an undetermined amount of cash.

Ramey said nobody was injured.
