Man accidentally shot on North Gloster Street

TUPELO - A man was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center after police say his handgun accidentally discharged in his vehicle in a North Gloster Street parking lot today.

Tupelo Police Lt. Jerry Davis said after watching surveillance video police do not suspect any foul play.

A man was getting in his truck at the Valero gas station on North Gloster Street near Barnes Crossing Road just after 11 a.m. when his handgun discharged.

Davis said he didn't know the condition of the man. Investigators are still processing the scene and evidence.
