MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Betty Erline Hancock Edwards, 89, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Erline was born Oct. 24, 1923, in the Darden community (Macedonia) of Union County to Isom and Berlin Sanderson Hancock. She graduated from Macedonia High School and later married Gaston Edwards, who died in l992. They lived most of their married life in the Shelby Forest community of Millington, where she had a career with People’s State Bank. She was an active member of Shelby Forest Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She had many cherished friends, loved her puppy, Patches, and enjoyed working in her yard.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shelby Forest Baptist Church in Millington, Tenn., with Bro. Chuck Fowler, Bro. Charles Timberlake, and Bro. Kelly Seely officiating. A private family burial will be held at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Millington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church only. Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her sisters, Theresa Hancock Kilgore (James) of Tupelo and Odessa Hancock Clayton (Edwin) of Montgomery, Ala.; one sister-in-law, Elaine Graham Hancock of Tupelo; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, W. A. Hancock (Dorothy), L.D. Hancock, Delma Hancock (Margie), Herman Hancock (Elaine), Ruby Hancock Kennon (Bill) and Claudia Hancock Dunn (Oren).

HICKORY FLAT – Sonya Marie Homan , 43, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at her home. She was born March 25, 1969, in New Albany to Henry Ellis Hamblin and Mary Seger Hamblin.

PLEASANT GROVE, Ala. – Lucille Estes Clark, 91, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. She was a longtime member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Pleasant Grove United Methodist, and she volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Services will be at 11 a.m.Thursday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor John Gates officiating. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery in Shannon, Miss. Patterson-Forest Grove Funeral Home of Pleasant Grove, Ala. is in charge of arrangements.

AMORY – Patricia Jeanne Price, 90, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on Dec. 19, 1922, in Carbon Hill, Ala., she was a daughter of the late William Farmer and Lois Robison McDonald. She was a graduate of Carbon Hill High School. In 1942, she married James E. “Jim” Price. She was employed more than 20 years with Sears, retiring as store manager in 1979. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. Residing on Main Street for more than 60 years, one of her favorite things was watching all the activities in the City Park, particularly during the annual Railroad Festival. Also, she enjoyed tending to the azaleas in her yard and playing cards with her Canasta group. She was the last surviving charter member of Beta Sigma Phi and was a member of the Aurora Club. Very caring and loyal, she loved her many friends and her family and enjoyed taking part in all of their activities. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Wanda Nesbit, Amory; sons, James E. “Bo” Price (Kay), San Antonio, Texas, and Mack Price (Donna), Canton; grandchildren, Joey Nesbit (Cari Anne), David Nesbit (Anna), Brian Price (Christine), Katherine Price, and Lauren Mooney (Paul); great-grandchildren, John Nesbit, Colby Nesbit, Tripp Mooney, Nicolas Nesbit, and Zachary Price; and nieces, Patsy King-Carroll (Richard) and Marilyn Oyler (Dennis).
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gwen West, and a son-in-law, Billy Nesbit.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Buzz Wilkinson and the Rev. Jimmy Criddle officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Burhorn, Phil Armor, Brett Johnson, Frank Peeler, Frank Bates, Lee Miller and Phil Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Parish, Pete Randle, former fellow Sears employees, River Place staff, and Gilmore Memorial RMC staff.

RIPLEY – Cathy Lynn Nanney, 59, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born Jan. 16, 1954, in Union County to Lee Earl Gilliam and Billie Quay Verrell. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church in New Albany and a homemaker.
