How was your weekend?

I caught a showing of "Red Riding Hood," because I'm doing the movie review this week. You'll have to tune into Wizard 106 at 8:30 a.m.-ish tomorrow to hear what I think about the movie.

My only news item for today:  The Foo Fighters, Motorhead and Biffy Clyro are coming to the FedEx Forum in May.

• Speaking of "Riding Hood," which stars Lukas Haas, check out his band, Lucas/Lukas and its song, "The Gift."
• I'm digging this 80s-ish/lowfi-ish song "Toys" by Secret Music.
• Also good: the slinky track "The Magic" by Joan as Police Woman.
• Best song title ever? Download "Eat Around the Bad Parts" by Girlfriends for free.
• Want a fun song to hear? Try "Ten-Twenty-Ten" by the Generationals.
• Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" is pretty dreamy already, but Foxes in Fiction's cover is pretty dreamy, too.
• And, finally, there's a vinyl and cassette only store in Portland called Mississippi Records (sigh, why can't it be here?) and they release these physical-copy only mixed tapes. Thing is, a nearby record label, Root Strata, has digitized them and has them on this site for free downloads. Pretty awesome.
