A couple of Saturday morning links here. ...

Georgia has had success in SEC series openers. The Bulldogs extended that a game further as Alex Wood held the Rebels in check, and Georgia clinched the series win 6-3 Friday night. Here's the account from the Athens Banner-Herald. ...

And LSU basketball has its new coach, former player Johnny Jones. Jones, a part of LSU Final Four teams as a player and assistant coach, was cleared of wrong-doing in the NCAA's investigation of former player Lester Earl.

Ole Miss football is back on the field this morning in a 10 a.m. scrimmage, one of two over today and next Saturday that will have big implications in the quarterback race. I'll have notes on the blog in the afternoon.

JB,

I get a kick out of you. Good stuff. Got a lot of love for you brother. Spoken like an irate Rebel that has had enough. Keep peckin away, maybe it will motivate somebody. Red and blue gets in your blood and you can't kick it.

Georgia may have clinched the series, but the Rebs are not dead yet. That Johnny Reb Blood that flow in my 75 year old vein is still flowing, even tho I get disturbed with the Rebels at time I am still a fan. I have seen them down before and with their backs to the wall and fought back successful. I believe they will do it once again. That Mississippi cow manure is still in between my toes and I will not wash off.
