No. 20 Ole Miss hosts Arkansas State tonight

OleMissLogoOXFORD – Ole Miss is back on the baseball diamond tonight against Arkansas State, the only mid-week action for the 20th-ranked Rebels. First pitch at Swayze Field is 6:30 p.m.

Arkansas State (11-8) is coming off a Sun Belt Conference sweep of Arkansas-Little Rock. The Red Wolves are coached by former Mississippi State player and assistant Tommy Raffo.

Baldwyn native Tanner Gaines, a 6-foot-1 junior right-hander, who pitched at Northeast Community College last year and Mississippi State the year before that, will start for Arkansas State.

It will be the second start for Gaines, who is 2-0 with a 4.50 earned run average in 14 innings.

Ole Miss will start senior left-hander Jeremy Massie (1-1, 2.20)

The Rebels (17-4) have their first SEC home series this weekend against Missouri.
