No. 3 Lions dominate Northeast

SCOOBA – Third-ranked East Mississippi flexed its muscles on Thursday night, beating Northeast 59-0.

The host Lions improved to 7-0 overall, 4-0 in North Division play. They’ve outscored their opponents 451-13 this season.

Northeast fell to 3-4 overall, 3-1 in the division.

Dontreal Pruitt threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead the nation’s No. 1 offense, which rolled up 647 yards on 90 total plays.

Pruitt passed for 307 yards and rushed 8 times for 63 more. Todd Mays ran 19 times for 127 yards and two TDs.

East Mississippi led 38-0 at halftime. The Lions punted once.

Northeast managed 25 net yards on 55 plays and lost foyur turnovers. One was an interception returned for a touchdown a couple minutes before halftime.

Corbin White led Northeast with 13 yards rushing on 11 carries. QB Jeremy Liggins was 3 for 6 for 39 yards and rushed seven times for 11 yards.

Northeast visits Itawamba CC on Thursday night. ICC (5-1, 3-0) visits Coahoma on Saturday afternoon.
