ABERDEEN – The honors keep piling up for Aberdeen tackle/defensive end Channing Ward.
A senior next season, Ward has been nominated to play in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Of the 400 nominees across the country, 90 will be selected during a fall tour to participate in the Jan. 7 game inside San Antonio’s Alamodome.
Staff Sergeant Calvin L. Dailey made the official announcement at a press conference at Aberdeen High on Thursday afternoon.
Ward’s coach, Chris Duncan, has also been nominated to coach in the game.
Ward has 17 collegiate offers, 10 from the Southeastern Conference and others including Notre Dame. Georgia became the 10th SEC school to offer when it did so Thursday.
