By NEMS Daily Journal

Monday’s first round of the MHSAA Class 6A golf state championships at the Cherokee Valley Golf Club in Olive Branch was postponed
due to rain.
The golfers will play the tournament’s entire 36 holes today, starting at 7 a.m. There will be a 30-minute break between rounds.
Tupelo is a two-time Class 5A state champ, but all the state’s largest schools are now in 6A.
Three other golf tournaments get started today:
Class 4A at Wedgewood Golf Club in Olive Branch
Class 3A at Reunion Golf Course in Madison
Class 2A at Natchez Trace Golf Club in Saltillo.
The Class 5A tourney will also be played at Natchez Trace, on Thursday and Friday. The Class 1A tourney is later this week in Natchez.
