Amory's Moreland goes to DL as Rangers activate Oswalt

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas Rangers have placed first baseman Mitch Moreland (Amory, Mississippi State) on the 15-day disabled
list and designated pitcher Mark Hamburger for assignment to clear roster space for Roy Oswalt.
The veteran right-hander was scheduled for make his first start for the Rangers on Friday night against Colorado.
Oswalt started four minor league games after signing a one-year deal with Texas on May 29.
The move on Moreland was retroactive to Wednesday, the day after he strained his left hamstring running the bases against San Diego. He’s eligible to return July 5.
Moreland was hitting .272 with 10 home runs and 25 RBIs in 55 games this season, facing mainly right-handed pitching.
After a slow start to the season, Moreland hit .324 in May before cooling off the last week.
