Authorities put limit on crappie for some lakes

JACKSON — Wildlife officials have put a daily boat limit on the number of crappie that can be kept from the Arkabutla, Sardis, Enid and Grenada reservoirs in north Mississippi.

The new regulation establishes a daily limit of 50 crappie for each boat carrying three or more anglers. The fish must be larger than 12 inches.

The Commission on Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks says in a news release Tuesday that the warm, dry winter has caused many crappie to be harvested before the spring spawn.
