BASEBALL: Rebels open first home series today

OXFORD – The Ole Miss baseball Rebels open their first home weekend series with a 3 p.m., first pitch today against North Carolina-Wilmington.
The series continues at 3 p.m., Saturday and concludes at noon on Sunday.
Ole Miss (2-2) is ranked No. 20 in this week’s Baseball America Top 25.
The Seahawks (2-2) took two of three from Ohio University on opening weekend then lost a 10-0 decision at North Carolina State on Tuesday in which the Wolfpack scored all 10 runs in the eighth inning.
The Rebels split two games at No. 15 TCU last weekend and looked solid in all three phases Tuesday in an 8-1 win over Arkansas State.
Freshman Sam Smith gave up one run over four innings and combined with four other pitchers to limit the Red Wolves to five hits, and freshman Senquez Golson had two hits, an RBI and a stolen base in his first collegiate apperance.
On the mound, Sophomore Bobby Wahl (1-0) will go tonight against Wilmington sophomore left-hander Matt Batts.
Senior R.J. Hively (0-0) will go against Wilmington junior left-hander Tyler DeLoach, and the series will wrap up with Ole Miss sophomore Mike Mayers (0-1) against Wilmington freshman right-hander Jordan Ramsey.
All three Ole Miss starters are right-handers.
