Baseball: Rebels rally late

OXFORD – Austin Anderson’s two-run single to right field sparked a five-run seventh inning and No. 11 Ole Miss tacked on three more in the eighth to rally past Arkansas State 10-4 on Wednesday.
The Rebels were down 4-2 with one out in the seventh when Anderson belted a 3-0 pitch from Seth McWilliams to knot the game up at four. Stuart Turner, Andre Mistone and Sikes Orvis followed with RBI singles to put the Rebels up 7-4.
Anderson singled again in the eighth to score Auston Bousfield to cap a 3-run inning and put Ole Miss up 10-4.
Starter Josh Laxer gave up two earned runs on three hits in 42⁄3 innings while striking out three. Brady Bramlett (4-0) earned the win after striking out 1 in 12⁄3 scoreless innings.
It was the Rebels’ sixth straight win over the Red Wolves in Oxford.
Ole Miss (22-4) opens a three-game set at Florida on Friday at 6 p.m.
