OXFORD, Miss. – For the second time in as many games, freshman right-hander Bobby Wahl came in and saved the game for the Rebels as Ole Miss (22-14, 7-7 SEC) defeated Kentucky (17-19, 2-12 SEC) by a score of 12-10 in a wild game that featured 28 hits and seven errors.

Ole Miss and Kentucky will play the final game of the series on Sunday with a first pitch at 1:30 p.m. at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field.

Arkansas 6, Miss. State 1

The Razorbacks built an early 6-0 lead, thanks in part to five runs in the home half of the third inning. Offensively, the Bulldogs did try to rally. However, UA reliever Barrett Astin proved too much to overcome. While picking up the win, Astin (4-1) got all 10 outs via strikeout in his 3.1 innings of work.

MSU dropped its fifth straight contest, falling to 21-14 overall and 5-9 in league play.

The series finale is at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. Cox Sports will have the regional telecast. MSU then remains on the road for the Tuesday night Governor’s Cup matchup with in-state rival Ole Miss. That 6:30 p.m. contest will be televised regionally by Comcast Sports Southeast from Trustmark Park in Pearl.
