Basketball Bulldogs have only five non-SEC home games

Mississippi State’s basketball team is going to rack up a lot of miles during non-SEC play.
The Bulldogs’ 12-game non-conference schedule was announced Monday, and only five of the games will be played at Humphrey Coliseum. That’s the fewest since the 2004-05 season, when MSU had five non-league games at home.
After a home exhibition versus William Carey, MSU begins the regular season on the road Nov. 9 against Troy, which is opening up a new arena. The first home game is Nov. 13 against Florida Atlantic.
State is also making trips to Providence and Loyola-Chicago, and it will play three games in the Maui Invitational (Nov. 19-21). MSU plays Central Arkansas in Jackson on Dec. 22.
