Biggersville senior Simmons lands MTSU offer

Biggersville senior Daniel Simmons has his first scholarship offer. Middle Tennessee State offered the 6-foot-3 guard not long after he helped the Lions to the MHSAA Class 1A state basketball championship in March.
Biggersville coach Cliff Little said Simmons was offered on the spot after an assistant coach watched a scrimmage.
“He’s a super-dooper competitive kid,” Little said. “He gets the ball down the floor as fast as anybody and sees the floor well. He has an outstanding shot. He’s silky smooth with the ball.”
Simmons averaged 22 points, seven rebounds and 4.5 assists per game last season and shot 55 percent from the field.
