Mississippi State quickly put up billboards around Mississippi, including this one in Tupelo south on Highway 45, to recognize MSU being the only school in the country this year to have players taken in MLB, NFL and NBA drafts.
MSU is the only school in the country this year to have players taken in each of the three major drafts. Arnett Moultrie was selected in the first round of the NBA Draft on Thursday by the Miami Heat, 27th overall and then traded Philadelphia 76ers. Fletcher Cox went 12th overall to the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, while Tupelo’s Chris Stratton went 20th overall to baseball’s San Francisco Giants.
Billboards were also put up in other parts of the state Friday.
